Progress update 9

For the past few lessons I have been focusing on creating the radio trailer which will be used to promote our documentary to our target audience. As a group we came to the decision to broadcast the trailer on Free Radio as it is a popular radio station which many of our target audience would be inclined to listen to due to the different variety of old and new music from different genres, and from listening to the station ourselves we know that they do feature advertisements on their radio station.

Progress update 8: Editing

Coming towards the last few weeks until the deadline, the editing of the documentary is almost complete. There is only 20 seconds left to do on the documentary. Video and audio transition have been added in order to improve the flow and pace of the documentary. The background sound track has been added and all sound levels are approved by the group. We are pleased with the consistency of the sound levels throughout the documentary as the interviews and archive footage are at an equal volume. Hopefully, as we have taken the time and effort to perfect the sound levels, overall our documentary wont just look good, but it will sound good.

Editing Documentary Clips

One of the issues we have faced when editing our documentary, is the fact the some clips were filmed in artificial light (mainly the image transformation video) which meant they had an orange hue in the clip. In order to correct this, so that the documentary all looked of equal lighting, thus making it aesthetically pleasing, I added a video effect of "colour balance". As orange is opposite to blue in the colour wheel, by increasing the colour blue in the video clip,it has balanced out the harsh orange lighting. We are now so pleased with the video colour quality, that we can include these clips in the documentary.
